If you told me 10 years ago that I would start a career in Digital Forensics (DF), I would have told you that the world would come to an end before that ever happened... OPE!
Granted I thought the world would end by zombies or AI becoming self-aware, but here I am working as a Criminal Investigator/ Digital Forensic Specialist in Law Enforcement in the midst of the largest TP shortage since Nineteen-Ott-Two. Oh heck, where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself...
I am Rare Breed 4N6. That's all. My background is Counterintelligence and Tactical Intelligence Operations, and let me tell you, in the world of DF, that doesn't mean SHIT! What it does mean, is that I'm one crazy MoFo. I'll dive as deep as possible to get the smallest crumb of information... and that's why my boss said, "I have a job for you."
So why did I start a blog and what can I offer the world of DF at this moment? A rookie's perspective in the world of DFIR. I'm not a Subject Matter Expert (SME), but I want to be. I want to learn as much about DF as I can and this is my journey. If you're expecting write-ups or tips and tricks, this is not the blog for you... yet. As I take more training and gain more knowledge, I hope to one day be a contributing member to the community.
Until then, enjoy my reviews of training courses I've attended, tools I've learned to use, my love/hate relationship with aforementioned tools, and most importantly... my fuck ups. In case you can't tell, I don't have much of a filter. I don't think life should be censored (unless somebody, somewhere, makes me sign an NDA), nor do I think we should hold back from being ourselves.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy all the pop culture references, obscurity, and profanity you can stomach...
